Just finished episode 10 and season on 1 of Westworld, and I think I just need a moment. So much goodness just fell from the Westworld sky. So so much. Ok, so needless to say this entire post is going to be one big massive spoiler after another. So much so, that I think I may post my first ever split blog post. I have also been working on an infographic that details out the relationships of the characters in season 1 — but I had to wait until the season was over before I actually published or I would have looked stupid.
The robopocalypse begins! The minute finale of HBO's Westworld was full of major revelations, big reversals, and tragic (and not-so-tragic).

A mind-bending finale with major consequences ends a brilliant debut season. We have so very much to discuss tonight. The more you think about the mechanics in this episode, the more brilliant it is. We open with bare-chested Dolores. Do we accept her as she is?
Of all the films that the brothers Christopher and Jonathan Nolan have collaborated on over the years, The Prestige is perhaps the most flawlessly and intricately designed. Hence, why I probably thought of that film several times during the Westworld season finale, an formidable achievement in which fan theories were confirmed, a few new twists were unexpectedly turned, and just about all sorts of hell broke out in the closing moments of a TV season that challenged, confounded, and enthralled its audience. Thus we need to understand why these two fellows exactly did what they did. Ford smile only one shade less malevolently than Hannibal Lecter in certain scenes while recalling their disagreements—not to mention ordering the death of Theresa Culling—it was easy to continue believing this. And when that happens, they will replace humanity. Arnold realized that the park was, indeed, inhumane and that to continuously erase their memories and their true personalities was a living hell for these genuinely living beings.
